sentimental seat

Tokujin Yoshioka‘s design, memory, for Moroso was presented at the Milan week 2010. the series of memory chairs is extremely poetic. the design being almost non-design, is simple yet unlimited in its forms. with a fabric constructed out of recycled aluminum, the chair is soft, and its shape forms as one sits and sculpts it into being, flexible and organic. no two chairs are identical, and the chairs are ever-changing. the chair will integrate into a home so beautifully, with the aluminum surface quietly reflecting and echoing bits of its surroundings, holding, storing with it, the memory of every person that once sat on the chair.

When placed all together, the chairs look like asteroids..

“This chair seeks to echo the beauty of nature, with its ever-changing expressions, giving the idea that the design doesn’t even exist”
